Wenona Kimbro is a writer and visual artist who has lived in Oregon all her life. She holds an MFA in fiction writing from Pacific University, building on undergraduate studies at Portland State in applied linguistics, painting, language and social justice, and both creative and research writing. Wenona writes nonfiction and poetry as well as fiction, frequently inhabiting the space between genres and occasionally delving into melodrama as a frame for extremes of human experience. She is especially interested in art that engages with physical discomfort, isolation, and shame, and their paradoxical relationship with love. Her own work examines these uneasy states as pathways to an unexpected, deeper intimacy with the body.
